Time has been altered, history has been changed, the years that pass now are different.
A terrible storm has changed history and time so that they are intermingled in the wrong way.
They have been manipulated by a strange power.
Not that the result is too terrible.
In fact one might say it was an....interesting change

The Tudor period has vanished off the face of the earth.
No one knows what happened to it but then they wouldn't know it ever existed as it was replaced by something else. Something strange.

The world of JK Rowling has taken its place. The time periods of Tom Riddle and the Marauders were taken to the Tudor period and so the characters existed in the late 1400s. And now it is the Trio's era only like their parent and grandparents, they live in the 1500s. What's more, many of them are actually royalty! Lord Voldemort is still a deep threat amongst the wizards of the time and muggles are still being hunted down and killed. It is still a desperate time but in the 1500s instead!
All the characters know what has happened to them. They now remember living two lives instead of just their Tudor ones. They remember and dream of their days in the future and wonder just how different their days in the past will be and whether they will ever go back...
